The Sumatran orangutan is one of the three species of orangutans and is native to the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. Known for its distinctive red fur and intelligent behavior, the Sumatran orangutan primarily inhabits tropical rainforests, where it spends most of its time in the trees. These great apes are highly arboreal and have a diet consisting mainly of fruits, leaves, and insects.
