The Sumatran orangutan is a species of ape found in the rainforests of Sumatra, Indonesia. At birth, baby Sumatran orangutans are typically about 2.5 pounds and about 20 inches in length. As they grow, they can reach an average weight of around 100 pounds and a length of around 4 feet. These orangutans have very flexible shoulder joints, which allows them to easily move through the trees and climb with great agility.
