The Chacma baboon is a species of Old World monkey native to southern Africa. Recognized for its distinctively long face and large size, Chacma baboons have a variable coat color ranging from olive-brown to gray and sometimes exhibiting a cape of hair on their backs. They are highly adaptable and live in various habitats, including savannas, woodlands, and rocky areas. Chacma baboons are social animals, forming troops led by a dominant male, and they are omnivores, feeding on a diverse diet of fruits, seeds, insects, and small vertebrates.
