The striped skunk, a distinctive mammal native to North America, is easily recognized by its black fur with two prominent white stripes running down its back. Known for its ability to spray a foul-smelling liquid from glands located near its tail, the skunk uses this as a defense mechanism against predators. Striped skunks are omnivorous, feeding on a varied diet of insects, small mammals, fruits, and plants, and they are often found in a variety of habitats including woodlands, grasslands, and urban areas.
