Polar bears are marine mammals and the largest land carnivore in the world. They are the only exclusively carnivorous bear in the world, feeding primarily on seals. Their large paws are specially adapted for swimming, and they can reach speeds of up to 6 mph in the water. Male polar bears can weigh up to 800 kg and are twice the size of females.
