The paca is a large rodent native to Central and South America, known for its stout body and unique spotted coat. It is nocturnal and typically found in tropical forests, where it feeds on fruits, leaves, and tubers. Pacas are excellent swimmers and often reside near water sources, using their ability to dive and swim as a means of escape from predators.
