Real Columbian Tegu Skull
The Colombian Tegu, also known as the Gold Tegu (Tupinambis teguixin), is a large lizard native to South America, particularly in Colombia, Venezuela, and the surrounding regions. These reptiles are known for their striking appearance, featuring a golden-brown or yellowish pattern across their bodies. Colombian Tegus are primarily carnivorous, feeding on a varied diet that includes insects, small mammals, eggs, and occasionally fruits. Unlike their Argentine Tegu cousins, Colombian Tegus tend to be more active and less docile, requiring experienced care in captivity. They are robust and adaptable lizards, often inhabiting diverse environments ranging from forests to savannas.
